This article examines the use of emotional phraseological units in Mukhtar Auezov’s epic novel The Path of Abay. Phraseological expressions are analyzed as important linguistic and cultural elements that reflect the Kazakh people’s worldview, national mentality, traditions, social experience, and emotional life. Particular attention is given to phraseological units expressing positive and negative emotions, including affection, respect, anxiety, dislike, anger, shame, disappointment, and resentment. The analysis shows that these expressions reveal characters’ inner states, attitudes, psychological reactions, and relationships. At the same time, they strengthen figurative expression, deepen characterization, and enrich the novel’s artistic and linguocultural structure and national identity.
